FUSES OF PAD MOUNTED TRANSFORMER
Pad mounted transformers are equipped with a two fuse system, one is bayonet fuse (RTE) and the other one is current limiting fuse (CLF).
Bayonet fuses are used to protect distribution equipment from damaging currents and to protect distribution systems from failed equipment.
Bayonet fuses are ideal for use in a two – fuse protection scheme with a current – limiting backup fuse.
For dual – voltage transformers, the current limiting backup fuse shall have a fuse voltage rating suitable for the higher voltage and a current rating adequate for the lower voltage. Expulsion fuses for both voltages and corresponding currents shall be provided, and the fuse for the higher voltage shall be installed, unless the customer need different requirement.
Pad mounted transformer are equipped with 3 Bayonet fuses and 3 fuses, with the function of protecting the transformer, as we mentioned before.

For Pad mounted transformers we have different configurations, Loop Feed Pad mounted transformer and Radial Feed Pad mounted transformer. These two different types of configuration, also require different quantity of accessories. In the case of Loop Feed, the transformer is equipped with 6 HV bushings and Radial Feed is equipped with 3 HV bushings.
High Voltage bushings have the function of current carrying and insulation when the high voltage line passes through the wall and equipment core, and the connection between equipment or the grounding equipment.
LOW VOLTAGE BUSHING OF PAD MOUNTED TRANSFORMER
Low voltage terminals shall be the spade type and shall have a thickness that will provide adequate ampacity.
Low voltage terminals should be clamped polymer and porcelain with 4-12 Hole spades.

CORE AND COIL OF PAD MOUNTED TRANSFORMER
The coil of Daelim Pad mounted transformer is manufactured with high quality cutting machine, ensuring high quality and perfection in the details. The most common is three – legged mitered core construction, ensuring the best performance. Five – legged cores designs are used in different types of transformers, with a special design (wye-wye connection).
At the same time, the coil is designed to minimize the axial stress of short circuit, providing high quality windings. Cores are manufactured with precision cut, grain oriended, and silicon steel, and designed to optimize core loss efficiency.
Daelim Pad mounted transformers feature a rectangular coil configuration with wire wound, high voltage primaries and sheet wound secondaries.
The assemblies of the core and the coil are braced with heavy steel ends to prevent the rectangular coil from distorting under short circuit conditions, and exceed ANSI and IEEE requirements for short circuit performance.

TANK OF PAD MOUNTED TRANSFORMER
The tank of Daelim Pad mounted transformer are designed for high strength and easy of handle, installation and maintenance. They are sealed to protect the insulating fluid and other internal components.
The transformer base shall be arranged so that the tank bottom does not touch the pad.
In terms of the process of tank production, Daelim pay attention of the precision cuts, oiled steel, pickling, etc. All the materials that Daelim use for the process of production of Pad mounted transformer tank, are high quality and resistant to corrosion. In this way we extend the life of the tank and the transformer as well.
Like the core and coil assemblies, the tank also follow the requirements of the IEEE standards.
The color used for the tank is Munsell Green, with the markings in white. These markings are transformer capacity (kVA), primary and secondary voltageg, serial number, and should be painted in white outside, located in the high voltage door.

OIL LEVEL INDICATOR
The Oil level indicator of Pad mounted transformer is response of the need of maintenance professionals to gauge the oil level inside the tank.
PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE
Pressure relief valve are specially designed for safety and protection.
The application of the pressure relief valve is to limit a sudden rise in oil pressure, inside a free – breathing oil cooled transformer tank.
PRESSURE VACUUM GAUGE
The pressure vacuum gauge indicated wether the gas space in the tank is under positive or negative pressure. This pressure depends on the transformer temperature. The pressure will be negative when the transformer is de – energized or operating under light load in low ambients.
THERMOMETER
The main function of the thermometer in pad mounted transformer is measure the oil temperature. Daelim Pad mounted transformer thermometer provide the temperature of the oil accurately, thus helping to have a better function of the transformer.
The thermometer helps us to check the working status of pad mounted transformer and make sure that works in the correct way.
The temperature rise of the insulating oil shall not exceed 65 degrees when measured near top oil level.

TAP CHANGER OF PAD MOUNTED TRANSFORMER
Tap changer of pad mounted transformer function is increase or decrease the output secondary voltage by changing the turn ratio of primary or secondary winding. This is installed in high voltage side.
Off – circuit tap changer and dual voltage selector switches, when specified, shall be externally operable lever – handle types, made of corrosion – resistant material. The means for operating the pad mounted transformer tap changer shall be installed in the cable entrance compartment. The highest voltage tap shall be tap position 1.

COOLING METHOD OF PAD MOUNTED TRANSFORMER
Daelim Pad mounted transformer normally use mineral oil or commonly known as transformer oil for their cooling method. Also are available with electrical grade mineral insulating oil or FR3 fluid. The applied liquids are to improve the efficiency, to low the risk of accidents, and the most important, to collaborate with the environment.
FR3 oil ensure safety and environmental benefits of the transformer and at the same time, improve also the life of the pad mounted transformer in this case.
Depends on the oil used for the transformer, also the price will be different. In the case the FR3 vegetable oil, the price will be also higher than mineral oil.

LOAD BREAK SWITCH OF PAD MOUNTED TRANSFORMER
Load break switch of pad mounted transformer are designed to switch the power on – off, or change the position when the transformer is energized (has a load on it) and the switch will break it. In resume, is primarily utilized to open an electrical circuit by isolating the source from the customer. This can be manual or motorized. Load break switch ensure on load markings, safety disconnections and breaking.
